At Kashikai Decor LLC dba Drapes & Shades Custom Window Designs, each curtain is individually handcrafted according to the exact specifications, measurements, and design selections approved by the client. Because every drapery panel is produced uniquely for its intended space, our policies are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and consistency for both the client and our production team.

No Returns or Refunds

All custom drapery orders are made exclusively for each project and cannot be resold or repurposed.
For this reason, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or refunds once an order has been submitted.
Once approved, the order immediately triggers fabric allocation, scheduling, labor planning, and production processes that are irreversible.

Order Cancellations 

If a customer wishes to cancel an order, they must contact our Customer Service team as soon as possible to check whether the order has entered production.

• If the order has not yet entered production, we will review the request and determine whether cancellation is possible.
• If the order is already in production, the order becomes final and cannot be canceled under any circumstances.

Because each custom curtain begins a sequence of fabric allocation, cutting, and scheduling that cannot be reversed, cancellations are only possible before production begins.

Customer-Provided Measurements

If the customer chooses to provide their own measurements, the customer accepts full responsibility for their accuracy.

If the finished curtains are:

• Too long,
• Too short,
• Misaligned with the intended installation area,
• Incorrectly sized for the window, wall, or track,
• Or unable to operate correctly due to incorrect measurements, these issues are not considered manufacturing defects.

In such cases, the customer is responsible for:

• Remaking or reconstructing the curtains,
• Any required alterations,
• Purchasing additional fabric or hardware,
• And any reinstallation services.

For the best results, we strongly recommend using our professional measurement service to avoid preventable errors.

Color Variation Disclaimer

Fabric colors may appear differently due to lighting, dye lots, or digital displays.
Minor variations in color or texture are not eligible for return or refund.

Production Time Disclaimer

Lead times are estimates and may vary due to supplier availability, fabric stock, production volume, or external factors.
Delays do not qualify for cancellations or refunds.

Wrinkles & Fabric Relaxation

Blackout and lined drapes are thicker and may have wrinkles during the first several days after installation.
Wrinkles relax naturally over time and are not a defect or grounds for return.

Standard Floor Clearance

Unless otherwise requested, drapery panels will have ¼" to 1" floor clearance.
This avoids friction, allows fabric to relax, and ensures long-term performance.

Drapery Stack (Fullness) Disclaimer

All drapery panels occupy space when open. The approximate stack is:

• 100% fullness: 20% each side (40% on one side)

• 80% fullness: 16% each side (32% on one side)

• 60% fullness: 13% each side (26% on one side)

These measurements are standard in the drapery industry and are not considered defects.

Payment Terms

All custom drapery orders require 100% upfront payment to begin fabrication.
This allows us to secure materials immediately and schedule the order within our production flow.

We do not accept deposits or partial payments for custom draperies.

A 3% processing fee applies to all credit or debit card transactions (non-refundable).

WARRANTY POLICY

We are proud of the craftsmanship of our custom curtains and stand behind the quality of our work. Our warranty protects the original purchaser against fabrication defects and applies only to products installed and used under normal conditions.

Warranty Coverage

The warranty covers issues directly related to the fabrication process, including:

• Stitching defects, loose hems, or improperly sewn pleats
• Construction issues that affect normal use
• Workmanship inconsistencies not caused by measurement errors
• Fabrication irregularities that fall outside industry standards

If a covered defect is confirmed, Drapes & Shades will determine whether the appropriate solution is:

• Repair
• Modification
• Partial replacement
• Full replacement

Warranty Exclusions (Not Covered)

Normal Wear & Fabric Characteristics

Curtains are textile products, and natural changes occur over time. Not covered under warranty:

• Natural wrinkles or fold memory
• Fading or discoloration from sun exposure
• Variations in dye lots, print alignment, or texture
• Changes in drape or fabric behavior with long-term use

Misuse or Improper Handling

The warranty does not apply to:

• Excessive pulling, rough use, or forced operation
• Damage from pets or children
• Stains, burns, odors, or damage from cleaning products
• Alterations not performed by our team

Customer-Provided Measurement Errors

Any issue resulting from inaccurate or incomplete customer measurements is not covered.

Environmental Conditions or External Factors

Not covered:

• Water exposure or humidity damage
• Mold or mildew
• Damage caused by HVAC or ventilation issues
• Exposure to extreme temperatures
• Any issue outside our control

Somfy Motor Warranty

Somfy motors and controls include a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty.
Coverage and procedures follow Somfy’s official terms.

Warranty Claim Process

To initiate a claim, customers must:

1. Contact Customer Service.

2. Provide clear photos or videos of the issue.

3. Allow sufficient time for evaluation and verification.

If the issue is covered, corrective action will be provided at no cost.
If the issue is not covered, we will provide a detailed quote for repair or replacement.

Installation services are available exclusively in South Florida and may be performed by in-house installers or approved third-party professionals. Customers are responsible for providing access to the property, ensuring readiness of the installation area, and complying with scheduling requirements. Additional fees may apply for rescheduling or access issues.
